Steve Krase is retired military and a recent
graduate of ITT Technical Institute where he
earned a degree in computer and electronics
engineering technology. He is currently
employed with Rain Bird Inc. as a test technician.
His is also taking courses in “Lab VIEW”, a
program used to develop applications in a
graphical programming language and to develop
virtual instruments for data acquisition, signal
analysis, and instrument control. This is the
same program that NASA’s Jet Propulsion
Laboratory used to analyze and display the Mars
rover’s engineering data, including the position
and temperature of the rover, how much power
remained in the rover’s battery and generally to
monitor the rover’s overall health.

Steve first became interested in CRUSH and
FIRST robotics while he was a student at ITT
Tech, a major sponsor of the team. He joined
CRUSH 1011 as a mentor in the fall of 2005. He
enjoys working in the shop with the students
where his main focus is the electrical and
electronic systems on robots and prototypes.
